6. THE WOMEN’S POLITICAL ASSOCIATION (WPA) 1903 - 1919
‘The WPA was at the forefront of opposition to the
war, resolving as early as 7 August 1914:
“This Association hopes that women everywhere,
the lifegivers of the world
will work henceforth with one mind to destroy
the perverted sense of ntional honour
and demand that national disputes
shall be adjusted by arbitration.'”
