17. THE WPA PROTESTED AGAINST THE COST OF LIVING
Woman Voter reported:
Cost of Living Deputation to Parliament -
Members frightened of women.
The deputation to the State Parliament - struck
such terror into the hearts of members that the
House adjourned nearly an hour and a half earlier
than usual! Our brave legislators!
The deputation also protested against Members
of Parliament shutting up the House and going off
recruiting, while the mothers and the children of
the community were left to starve.
